U.S. Israel Education Association Discusses the Geopolitical Importance of U.S. Aid to Israel
Birmingham, Ala. (April 20, 2024) — In the wake of Iran’s unprecedented attack against the Jewish nation, the U.S. Israel Education Association (USIEA) is highlighting the importance of U.S. aid to Israel through its three-pronged education strategy: on The Hill, in Israel, and with the media.
U.S. funding plays a multifaceted role in ensuring Israel's security and promoting regional stability. Assisting Israel in self-defense against hostile threats, including recent attacks from Iran, not only safeguards one nation, but also contributes to stability in the Middle East. Bolstering Israel's defense capabilities serves as a deterrent against further aggression, reducing the likelihood of a greater regional or global conflict.
“U.S. support for crucial defense mechanisms like the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow systems reduces the potential for Israel and other nations’ direct military involvement,” said Heather Johnston, Founder and CEO of USIEA. “If Israel lacked its current defense capabilities and was hit by more missiles over the weekend, we would already be engaged in a full-scale war.”
The proposed foreign aid fosters joint U.S.-Israel collaboration that promotes technological exchange and innovation. These collaborations not only lead to the development of advanced weaponry but also give the U.S. access to cutting-edge technologies developed in Israel, enhancing its own defense capabilities. Through joint endeavors like these, Israel and the U.S. contribute to advancing global security by developing high-tech weaponry and defensive systems that deter violent conflicts.
Ari Sacher is USIEA’s Senior Policy Advisor and has worked for over twenty-five years as a rocket scientist in Israel.
“The ‘start-up nation’ has been at the forefront of numerous technological breakthroughs in the 21st century, and U.S. investment has proven extremely productive for all sides.” said Sacher. “We value and rely on this partnership greatly.”
